Hendon Under-21s' six-match winning run came to an end on Saturday as London United Football Academy scored the only goal of the match.
Hendon were overrun in the opening exchanges and they were lucky still to be on level terms when the management team made a substitution and changed the formation. The changes worked well and Hendon then gave as good as they got, only failing to find the target. With just less than 20 minutes remaining, London Academy finally broke the deadlock, courtesy of some slack defending at a corner, and although Hendon laid siege on the London Academy goal, the home team were able to hang on for victory.
"I am disappointed that we lost the game," admitted joint manager Eamon Finn, "especially as we pressurised them so much in the last 15 minutes. A draw would have been a fair result, but they took their chance and we didn't. Once we had changed tactics, we started to dominate. My man of the match was Dylan Agyako, who had an excellent game in midfield and made some dangerous runs into attack as well as tracking back into defence."
