The first team reached the quarter finals of the Middlesex Senior Cup this evening courtesy of a 2-1 win over Harrow Borough on a very wet evening at SJP.

The first half was goalless, with the only moments of note coming when Harrow defender Arinse Uade headed the ball past his own keeper, but was relieved to see the ball rebound off the post to safety, whilst at the other end Sam Murphy and Tom Lovelock combined to make three excellent clearances/saves in the space of a few seconds

The second half opened with the Greens taking the lead in the 51th minute when Ashley Nathaniel-George fired the ball home after Sam Murphy had a penalty well saved by Melvin Minter. Twenty minutes later Kurtis Cumberbatch equalised, but substitute Niko Muir secured the win when he was sent clear by Kezie Ibe to score his 17th goal of the season.

Contrary to previous understanding, the Middlesex FA website shows that we will be at home to Spelthorne Sports in the quarter finals, which are due to be played in the week commencing 15th January. The other ties are Wealdstone v Hampton & Richmond Borough, Staines Town v Uxbridge and Enfield 1893 v Barnet. Should we beat Spelthorne Sports, we will be at home to Enfield 1893 or Barnet in the semi-finals.
