The first team progressed into the second round of the London Senior Cup this evening on penalties despite going behind two two early goals from Wingate & Finchley.

The visitors fielded an almost completely changed line up, whilst Gary McCann made a number of changes as well. In the 4th minute Ricardo Price put the visitors ahead, and ten minutes later Ben Pattie doubled the lead.

It wasn’t until the 72nd minute that the Greens scored when Daniel Uchechi scored his first goal for the club, and on the verge of full time Ollie Sprague scored the equaliser. It must be said that both goals were two pieces of quality.

With the scores level, the game moved into penalties, and the Greens won 4-3 with Niko Muir, Sam Murphy, Sprague and Kezie Ibe scoring. Wingate had two saved by Tom Lovelock, whilst Uchechi missed his effort.

A home tie against Hanwell Town awaits in the next round on a date to be announced.
