The first team continued their good home form with a 2-1 victory over Tonbridge Angels this afternoon despite going a goal behind, and missing a fourth consecutive penalty this season.
The penalty miss came late in the first half when Ashley Nathaniel-George's effort was easily saved by Jonathan Henly after he had been fouled just inside the box. The visitors had the best of the first half exchanges, but the Greens defence held firm as has so often been the case so far this season.
However the defence was beaten in the 52nd minute when Chris Kinnear fired a scorching effort into the corner of the net, but within three minutes the Greens were back on level terms as Michael Corcoran headed home a cross from Sam Murphy to open his account for the club.
Both sides worked hard to try and find a winner, but it was as the game moved into stoppage time that it came. Daniel Uchechi was fouled by Sonny Miles, and the penalty was awarded by the referee. Many home fans were unable to watch, but Niko Muir converted the spot kick with confidence, sending Henly the wrong way to secure all three points.
