Despite going down to a 4-3 defeat at Billericay Town, the first team put in another impressive performance, with many present feeling that they deserved at least a point out of the game.
The game started in great style as the Greens took the game to their hosts and took the lead in the 3rd minute when Ashley Nathaniel-George curled the ball into the top corner. However, the lead was short-lived as Ricky Modeste equalised nine minutes later.
Just five minutes after that, the Greens were back in front courtesy of an outstanding strike from Keagan Cole from the edge of the area which dipped just under the bar with Alan Julian grasping at fresh air. Unfortunately, the lead was even more short-lived, just three minutes elapsed before Adam Cunnington found the back of the net.
The Greens had a penalty shout turned down, but at the other end Billericay were awarded a spot kick in the 35th minute which was converted by Billy Bricknell, and Adam Cunnington made it 4-2 just before the break.
The second half saw Billericay enjoy the ascendency for the first quarter of an hour, but the Greens grew back into the game, especially after the introduction of Josh Walker and Daniel Uchechi and deservedly reduced the deficit when Nathaniel-George scored his second of the afternoon. Unfortunately the Greens were unable to fashion an equaliser despite having the bulk of possession in stoppage time.
Despite the defeat, Hendon fans left the ground feeling that the team deserved at least a point from the game and were very proud of the effort and performance that the team put in.
