Whilst Gary McCann is busy putting together his squad for the new season, there is plenty of work happening at SJP off the pitch.
Rob Morris and Tom Stockman continue to work hard to improve the facilities at SJP, and things may look a bit different when we return in a few weeks time for the pre-season friendlies.
The existing boardroom is being decorated and being turned into a dedicated office to be used by club secretaries as well as admin staff from SJP.
The main hall is being refurbished and will now have the flexibility of being two classrooms for our educational needs, or a hall for matches and functions.
The existing classroom between the hall and the changing rooms will have a dual use as the boardroom as it is a larger room to make delivering hospitality to sponsors and our opponents directors much easier.
A corner of the ground will be named Clarke's Corner, in memory of Geraldine & Dave Clarke, and this will house the new club shop and catering hut, both of which will be ready for pre-season.
The changing rooms for players and match officials will be repainted.
It is also hoped that, time permitting, the seats in the old main stand will be replaced with the white seats from Lords that were kindly donated by the MCC.
It is likely that we will need some help and plan to have a supporters day where you can lend a hand to get SJP ready for the season ahead. Please keep your eyes open for news of a date for this.
