The first team put in a battling, hard-working performance this afternoon, but were left empty handed as Tonbridge Angels headed back to Kent with all three points after winning 2-1.
It was the Greens who drew first blood when Reis Stanislaus was fouled in the box, and Matt Ball stepped up to convert the spot kick in the 14th minute.
Both sides had periods of possession, but were unable to find the back of the net until Nathan Elder slid the ball home in the 68th minute. The winner came with four minutes to go when the linesman ruled that Andre McCollin had managed to bundle the ball over the line before a Hendon player was able to clear it.
The focus for the squad is now on next weekend's game at Folkestone Invicta as they continue their bid to avoid the drop.
