Gary McCann reflected on Saturday's draw with Lowestoft as he said, "If we had spoken at five past five on Saturday, I would raged about our frustrating performance and inability to win the game.

"But, having had time to think about it, I have to give great credit to Lowestoft for the way that they defended, especially in the second half.

"When a team has a player sent off, or in this case a goalkeeper replaced with an outfield player, you want every player to give you an extra bit of effort for the team. This makes it that bit more difficult. Lowestoft changed their shape and were happy to soak up pressure without giving us too many shooting opportunities.

"That said, I think we should have done much better in terms of quality and decision making. We didn't work their stand-in goalkeeper anything like enough.

"We could have won the match, but we could equally have lost it as Lowestoft had three good chances in the second half, in the second minute, midway through, when they hit the post and right at the end. But we had our own chances, and possibly the best of the game in the last two minutes.

"Losing Casey was a massive blow for us. He will be out for some time and that is bad news for him and us, too.

"This was a game I really felt we had to win, especially as we have four very difficult games coming up. One thing the League has shown this season is that if you get it right on the day, you can beat any opponent, irrespective of where the teams are in the table."
