Hendon Football Club is disappointed to announce that leading scorer Niko Muir is in the process of leaving the club to sign for Leiston.

Speaking to Greensnet today, Gary McCann said "I can't tell you how disappointed we are as a club with the loss of Niko. Just 3 or 4 months into his Hendon career he has opted for a new challenge.

"We all understand that it will be more financially rewarding, but the travel and logistics of the move don't make sense.

"If promotion happens to be gained by Leiston this season, I'm sure that Conference North football will follow - again something I find hard to comprehend.

"We thank Niko for his efforts over the past few months and wish him well at his new club.

"We must now turn the page, move forward and not dwell, and use this as motivation to build on some excellent results of late."

The paperwork for Niko's move is expected to be completed in time for him to be involved for Leiston tomorrow afternoon.
