The first team gained revenge for their 5-0 FA Trophy thrashing at Leiston by coming away with all three points in a 3-2 victory in this afternoons league fixture.

The Greens put in a superb team performance throughout the whole 90 minutes, and took the lead in the 14th minute when Oliver Sprague drove home a loose ball from the edge of the area after Karl Oliyide had hit the bar. The home side equalised in the 43rd minute through Matt Blake, and the hosts took the lead in the 50th minute thanks to Jack Ainsley.

The reaction from the Greens was outstanding and they were back on level terms in the 56th minute when Niko Muir slammed home the ball when the home defence failed to deal with a low cross from Keagan Cole.

The winner came two minutes from the end of normal time when Jacob Marsden in the home goal let another low cross, this time from Leo Donnellan, through his grasp, enabling Niko Muir to ensure the ball rolled into the net.

Gary McCann will be keen to ensure that the squad build on this performance on Tuesday evening when they entertain Canvey Island at SJP, kick off 7:45pm.
