The first team's London Senior Cup hopes fell at the first hurdle as they were beaten 1-0 by Metropolitan Police at a wet Imber Court.
The first half was a largely even affair with chances at a premium, although Billy Collings was forced into a superb save just before half time from a free kick.
The second period saw the Greens in the acendancy but they were unable to turn their possession into goals, and were punished when the home side bundled the ball home from close range in the 73rd minute.
As the game moved into stoppage time, Finbarr Robins was bundled over in the box and a penalty was awarded. Robins himself took responsibility for the spot kick, but his effort was comfortably saved by Nathan Baxter and the home side progressed into the quarter finals of the competition.
