The first team beaten Wembley 4-3 on penalties in the Middlesex Senior Cup this evening after the scores were level at 2-2 at full time.

The Greens had the perfect start when Keagan Cole scored his first competitive first team goal for the club in the opening minute with a fine finish from the edge of the box, but shortly before half-time Charlie McKee equalised for the Lions.

McKee gave the visitors the lead in the 53rd minute, but Hendon equalised two minutes from time when Wembley failed to deal with a long throw and Niko Muir tapped home Sam Murphy's cross to take the game to a penalty shoot-out.

On target for the Greens were Murphy, Cole, Casey Maclaren and Niko Muir, who scored the winning penalty, with Luke Tingey firing over, whilst for Wembley Alex Witham, Adam Humphries and Joe Wright netted with Berkley Laurencin saving the efforts from Zaied Sabti and Gustavo Mota.

Our opponents in the second round will be Northwood at Silver Jubilee Park, with the game likely to take place in November on a date to be confirmed.
