The first team battled to a 2-1 victory at a very wet Metropolitan Police this afternoon.
The opening goal came in the 5th minute, when Finbarr Robins was fouled in the box by Nathan Baxter as the keeper dived to punch the ball away. Robins stepped up and sent Baxter the wrong way from the spot.
The Greens were the better side in the opening 20 minutes, but gradually the home side came back into the game, and it was no surprise when they equalised early in the second half through Rob Bartley.
However, Hendon were back ahead in the 58th minute when Kezie Ibe fed Niko Muir with a slide rule pass, and Muir fired the ball into the back of the net.
The home side had the better chances as the game came to a close, with one being cleared off the line by a defender, but the Greens battled superbly to ensure they took away all three points.
Next up is a home league cup tie against the same opponents - kick off at SJP on Tuesday evening is 7:45pm.
