The first league game at Silver Jubilee Park turned out to be a disappointment as Worthing ran out deserving 3-0 winners on a warm afternoon.
The first half was goalless, with the visitors probably just edging it, but the second half began with the Greens in the ascendency. However in the 61st minute Reiss Stanislaus broke the deadlock, and five minutes later Harvey Sparks doubled the lead.
Dale Binns saw a strike deflect off Will Hendon onto the bar with Rikki Banks beaten, but by the 73rd minute Stanislaus had scored his second and Worthing's third. The visitors were then content to see out the game and ensure all three points went back to the south coast.
Next up for the Greens is a trip to Kingstonian on Monday evening. Kick off at Kingsmeadow will be at 7:45pm
