The first team kept up their good run of results this afternoon as they picked up another point in a 2-2 draw against Canvey Island. It was a young Hendon side that was selected by Gary McCann, with four teenagers starting, and fifth coming off the bench.
It was the Greens who took the lead when Dave Diedhiou found the back of the net, but shortly before half-time veteran striker Cliff Akurang equalised for the visitors.
It was Akurang who gave Canvey the lead with ten minutes to go, but Hendon were given a lifeline a minute later when Lawrence Yiga handled on the line and was sent off, and Brandon Adams stepped up to convert the spot kick.
