Gary McCann was doubly pleased with the weekend result against fellow strugglers VCD Athletic.
He said, "I am really pleased with the result, and also the performance but we are at a stage in the season where the result is all that matters at the moment.
"The performance was solid and showed signs of us of old. We could have won by more than we did.
"With just a little more composure, especially in the final third, it would have been a far more comfortable victory. Their goalkeeper made a number of good saves and we had a few other attempts blocked.
"I thought we were very good defensively. Their first goal was a fantastic strike and thr second a lucky bounce, the only other really dangerous moment came just before their first goal when Ricky Sappleton crashed the ball against the top of the crossbar from about 40 yards.
"We have now got a bit of breathing space between the teams below us, but the job is not done yet and we have a number of very important matches coming up in the next few weeks. But things are certainly looking better than they did a couple of weeks ago."
