Steve West won the SJP New Year Darts Open, organised by the IDL and Hendon FC, beating Dre Hajimina 6-3 in the final, completing the last leg with a 170 checkout.

In a quality field, last season's winner Ritchie Edhouse lost in the first round to Rob Walters, and the best performing IDL players were semi finalists Lee Williams and Martin Lukeman.

Exciting news for next year's SJP New Year Open is that the winning prize will be a guaranteed £1000. More details to follow in due course.
