Gary McCann has spoken to Greensnet this evening following the departures of Leon Smith and Aaron Morgan.
He said "I am disappointed to see both players move on as they were an integral part of our success last season.
"Leon had expressed concern at the lack of minutes he had been getting recently, and following discussions with him and with Jim Cooper at Metropolitan Police, it was felt that the move was the best outcome for all parties.
"Aaron and I have had a number of conversations in recent weeks, with Aaron saying that he was suffering from a lack of enjoyment. Despite giving it a few weeks, he has unfortunately been aunable to shake that feeling off, and he has decided to move on.
"I would like to thank both players for all their efforts during their time with us. They have both given us all moments that will live long in the memory.
"None of us are enjoying things at the moment, but we are all working hard to turn the corner and move our way up the table.
"Remember, we are all in this together, and your support is greatly appreciated by the players, my backroom staff and of course myself. We look forward to seeing you on Saturday."
