Hendon manager Gary McCann was furious at the performance against AFC Sudbury saying "We severely under performed in the first half".
"Even so, their goalkeeper still made a number of very good saves. How many times am I going to have to say that the other team's goalkeeper was their best player and we had lost the game? He was very good, but I still think we should been more clinical and efficient.
"The performance was not what I expected, especially in such an important game as this, and it really shocked me. It is a very damaging defeat. We have to be more ruthless at both ends of the pitch, and against Sudbury, especially up front.
"We conceded a very poor, poor goal. We spoke to the players before the game about what they had to be aware of, especially early in the game, but we were very careless and paid the price.
"I made two changes at half-time and both were tactical. In truth, there were probably five or six players I could have taken off because they were nowhere near where I expected them to be. Over the 90 minutes, there were probably no more than five or six from 14 players who performed in the way I expected of them, and that is nowhere near good enough to win any game.
"There may well have to be changes to the squad. We have failed miserably in both the major competitions, with no finances gained in much needed circumstances. After this performance, it is clear to all there is both improvement and reassessment needed."
