Maidstone United were comfortable 4-0 winners this afternoon in the Isthmian League Charity Shield.

The Greens included midfielder Russell Short in their line up, one of four debutants making their competitive Hendon debuts - the others being Joe Wright, Hassan Sulaiman and Mahrez Bettache.

Maidstone struck early as Callum Driver scored in the 2nd minute, and Jay May extended the lead in the 12th minute.
It was substitute Alex Akrofi who scored the other two, those coming in the 79th and 87th minutes, the second being a penalty.

The focus for Gary McCann and the squad is now on next weekend's opening league fixture at Grays Athletic.
