A late comeback after a poor start saw Hendon win a second piece of silverware for this season as they beat Tooting & Mitcham United with a salvo of 3 goals in under 20 minutes.
The Greens started poorly and throughout normal time Tooting & Mitcham belied their inferior league status, often looking the better side before deservedly going ahead in the 38th minute through Nathan Gordon. Things got worse for Hendon in the second half as they lost Sam Flegg to injury and then went down to ten men with Oliver Sprague dismissed midway through the period for denying a goalscoring opportunity.
However, Gary McCann's side proved their mettle with a late comeback, Aaron Morgan equalising just 3 minutes from time to force extra time and then pouring forward to get two quick goals in the first period of extra time, Morgan in the 102nd minute and Ibe just two minutes later. Tooting refused to lie down with Francis Quarm scoring a late consolation, but it was too little to late and the Greens were able to lift the London Senior Cup for the second time this decade.
