We are saddened to learn of the passing of John O'Brien early this morning following a long illness. John was our chief scout for a number of years through the 1990's and early 2000's, and played a very important part at the club. He went on to scout for a number of professional clubs, including QPR, Wycombe Wanderers and Fulham.

Even after leaving the club, he often came along to games, always took an interest in how we were doing, and would be a familiar face to many.

Our deepest sympathies go out to John's family at this very sad time.
