Gary McCann was delighted with how the games against Corinthian-Casuals and Leatherhead played out. Looking back first at the historic game on Thursday night he said, "It was a fantastic occasion. I wanted the boys to put on a show and we were really pleased with the outcome.
"There was a fantastic atmosphere at Silver Jubilee Park and to get around 300 people in the ground on a Thursday night shows what can be possible.
"Rob Morris and Simon Lawrence have worked so hard and deserve huge credit for everything they have done. The performance was very much for them."
Then, reflecting on another three points on Saturday he said, "I was really pleased with the performance. It had everything you would demand from the team: professionalism, effort, commitment and energy.
"There were elements of tiredness in the performance, but that was understandable. And, to be honest, it wasn't the most attractive of games to watch.
"We were defensively very solid and we organised very well. Even when we were down to 10 men we limited them to one or two shots. Our two banks of four worked really hard and were so efficient.
"I did think about replacing Lee O'Leary after he was warned in the second half, but with Casey taking a knock we had to be cautious of this. We also trusted Lee to take the warning on board. Sadly, he didn't and made another poor decision and got himself sent off."
