Gary McCann, was delighted with Saturday's win over Tonbridge Angels. He said, "I am really pleased with the win. It was a solid professional performance, without hitting the heights. The two teams cancelled each other out, but the defences were on top, especially the centre-halves.
"We had to be efficient in the conditions and maybe play a less expansive game. We have to adapt mentally to the conditions and that is the most important thing.
"Our adjustment mentally to having a plan B - by not letting the pitch dictate what we do - has been much better this season than before.
"There is a strong similarity between where Tonbridge are now where we were seven or eight years ago when we would play well against the top teams but an individual error would cost us the game."
Tonbridge manager and former Hendon midfielder Steve McKimm, McKimm, while obviously disappointed to lose, saw the positives as he said, "We did all right. We held our own against a very good team. It is a shame our goalkeeper made a mistake and we lost the game."
