Gary McCann was a happy man on Tuesday evening after the win at Witham and said "I am very pleased with the result. We knew it would be difficult to play the same team twice in a few days, especially having to go there in midweek.
"It was bitterly cold, but the result warmed the cockles of my heart.
"We made the perfect start and were very good for the first five or so minutes, but for the next 30-35 minutes Witham dominated. We lacked a bit of quality and we could not get the ball forward as we would have liked, so we made a couple of changes at half-time.
"The second half was more evenly contested, but we were much better and in the end deserved the second goal.
"The table looks good now, but we want it to look good good in 13 games time. Nothing is achieved in early March, but we are in a good position."
