Gary McCann was pleased with the progression in the League Cup on Tuesday night. He said, "It was a very good performance in difficult conditions, but we knew what to expect.
"It keeps this cup run going but, more importantly it gets us back to winning ways. The win was very big for us, just as it would have been for Hampton. We did change things around a little bit with our shape.
"The guard of honour before the match was very nice. I didn't really want a fuss, but I did appreciate it.
"This was a win treble for us tonight; into the quarter-finals, a good performance by the team and no injuries picked up.”
