Gary McCann was pleased with the workout the squad got against Edgware Town yesterday afternoon.
He said, "It was a good workout for us. It got minutes into the squad and this is very important at this time of the season.
"I enjoyed the surface - I think it is better than Maidstone's – and the boys are loving it too. All in all, it was a good exercise for us.
"The final score was a true reflection of the game. We could probably have added to our total, but I was pleased with what we did.
"I didn't really want Charlie Goode and Elliott Brathwaite to go the whole way, but we didn"t have the replacements at the back, especially after Sam Flegg dropped out with flu. As they were not under great pressure for large parts of the game, it wasn't so much of an issue.
"The good news is that almost all of the injured players are very close to returning to fitness and being back in training."
