Gary McCann struggled to explain what he had seen at Enfield Town on Saturday.
He said, "Six defeats out of six is extraordinary. It is freaky that we have lost six times to Enfield Town in the League. I thought we had turned the corner when we won here last month". (Hendon have never lost to the Towners in cup competitions).
"Today, however, we never got going. I must admit I though that we might take a while to get into the game after nine days without a match. We did train twice last weeks, but it is not the same as playing.
"We were lacking everywhere today, and there were only a couple of players who came out of the game with any credit. The way we played meant there was always going to be disappointment on our part, and I told the players this after the game. I was quite calm with them in the dressing room, and there was no shouting."
