Gary McCann was delighted to return from Maidstone with another point safely in the bag. He said, "I am delighted to have got a draw from this game.
"We did well to stay in the game and we had to do well defensively. The back four stood up and were counted today.
"I think we stood toe-to-toe with them. We were not as good as we could be offensively, but sometimes you have to credit to the opposition for that and they made it very difficult for us.
"We have worked hard on set pieces, but we haven't been very good this season, either in terms of the delivery into the penalty area or when the ball arrives in the box. But, today, when it really mattered, we got it just right and Elliott scored with a brilliant header.
"This could be a defining point for us because we showed our mental strength. Their record at home is so good that to get something from the game was fantastic and the way that we didn't buckle under pressure shows how good our attitude and dressing room is.
"We got the same one point on Saturday as we did the previous week against VCD Athletic, but the feelings afterward could not be more different.
"We discussed, as a management team, what we he hoped for and wanted from our last two away games and if you had offered me four points from trips to Leiston and Maidstone, I would have bitten off your hands. To gain a win and a draw in two of your toughest away trips in the season takes us nicely into the Christmas fixtures."
