Hendon's excellent league form continued this afternoon as they beat Bury Town 3-1 at Ram Meadow, taking full advantage of defeats to both Margate and Maidstone United.
The Greens took the lead in the 21st minute through Leon Smith, before the home side equalised thirteen minutes later. Kezie Ibe restored the lead on the stroke of half-time.
All the key action in the second half took place in stoppage time. Firstly Ben McNamara was the hero as he saved a penalty, and as the game moved into the fourth minute of stoppage time, Kezie Ibe popped up to score his second and make absolutely sure of all three points.
The result means that the Greens are now 8 points behind leaders Margate with 2 games in hand, and just 1 point behind 2nd placed Maidstone although the Stones have played two games less.
