Gary McCann was delighted with the win at AFC Hornchurch last night.
"Before the game," he said, "I stressed that after Saturday's superb win against Leiston, we had to guard against an 'after the Lord Mayor's Show performance,' and the boys responded perfectly.
"It was another very good performance and there were lots of positives to take from the game.
"In recent years, we have struggled to cope against some types of team, but there is no question that we can cope with the physical battles.
"At half time I told the players that we had more than matched them in the physical battle in the first half and now we should go out and play some more football.
"We played some excellent football in the second half and scored two fine goals.
"All the players were again very good, but there is one player I wish to single out for special praise. Elliott Brathwaite was again immense, and if you think of what he has been through in his career that he has got back to where he is today, it speaks volumes for him as a person and as a player.
"He has been brilliant for us this season."
