Gary McCann could not hide his pleasure at the result and the performance of the team against Leiston. He said, "On reflection on the game, my evaluation is that was the most complete performance of the season. The first half display was backed up with a composed second half.
"This was a game of real importance to the football club and the players produced plenty of purpose and pace and they are expressing themselves in the dangerous areas of the pitch.
"It is important for the management team to give the players freedom to express themselves. The balance of each individual and collective display was top class.
"We are in a very good place at the moment. We have suffered more than our fair share of injuries and we have still put in some very fine performances.
"Today, with the possible exception of the Harrow Borough game, was the first time that we put in a full 90-minute performance. We have been very good for 45 and 60 minutes of some games and that has been enough, but given the circumstances of the FA Cup, this was so pleasing to the management team.
"Now I hope for a kind draw on Monday."
