Gary McCann spoke to Greensnet this morning and announced that Michael Murray has been released by mutual consent.
Gary said "This has been a very tough decision, both for myself and for Michael, but it is a decision that is the right one for him.
"I would love to have kept him at the club, and he would have loved to stay, but with the competition for places, we are unable to offer him the regular football that he needs at this stage of his career.
"Michael's attitude throughout his two years with the club has been exemplary, he has always been behind the team and supportive of the squad even when he's not been involved.
"He will be missed in the dressing room where he was a very popular figure, and he goes with our very best wishes."
Michael made 49 appearances, scoring 8 goals, some of which will live long in the memory, particularly his winning free-kick against Corby Town in the FA Cup Fourth Qualifying Round in October 2012.
He has signed for Northwood, and played for them yesterday in their 1-0 victory at home to Potters Bar Town
As Gary said when he spoke to us this morning, we all thank Michael for his efforts and goals during his time with us, and wish him every success for the future.
One other player on the move, but temporarily, is Tom O'Regan, who has signed on a dual-registration for Burnham, where former Hendon defender Gary Meakin is now manager.
