A performance described by Gary McCann as out of character resulted in Hendon losing 6-1 at East Thurrock United, playing the last half hour with ten men.
Gary also said that the team were outfought, outworked and outplayed on what turned out to be an afternoon to forget.
The Greens were behind in the 2nd minute through Sam Higgins, and the same player doubled the lead in the 39th minute before Neil Richmond made it 3-0 just before half-time.
With all three substitutions having been made, Casey Maclaren was then forced off with over half an hour to go with an injury, meaning the remaining ten men had to see the game out with no further reinforcements.
Leon Smith pulled a goal back in the 65th minute, but within four minutes, Sam Higgins had completed his hat-trick, becoming East Thurrock's leading scorer ever in the process. Mitchell Gilbey then scored twice in the 72nd and 80th minute to complete the Greens' biggest league defeat of the season.
