Hendon's cup hopes for the season came to an end at the hands of Hampton & Richmond Borough this evening. The entertaining Middlesex Senior Cup semi final ended with a 4-3 win to the Beavers.
The Greens fielded a side that contained 9 changes to the starting line-up, including two debutants in Jonathan Hippolyte and Archange Nkumu, and Elliott Brathwaite making his first appearance in just over a year.
It was Hendon who scored first in the 10th minute, Jack Bennett scoring a fine effort, but from the restart Hampton attacked and Aaron Wickham equalised. Dave Diedhiou restored the lead in the 28th minute, but within two minutes Tommy Brewer had levelled again. Five minutes later the Greens were back in front when Michael Murray converted a spot kick.
The game was all square again 13 minutes into the second half when Belal Aite-Ouakrim came back to haunt his former side. The winner came eight minutes from time. The referee ruled that Berkley Laurencin had fouled Aite-Ouakrim in the box and was also denying a clear goalscoring opportunity. Laurencin was sent off, and Nkumu was sacrificed for Joe McDonnell, but he was unable to keep out Wickham's penalty.
