Gary McCann was a very frustrated and unhappy man when he spoke after the defeat against Enfield Town. "There haven’t been too many nights like that in recent times,”"he said.
"Yesterday was certainly one of those. It was a huge disappointment and it may signal the end of our playoff hopes. Of course, we will keep going, but we have made it much harder for ourselves.
"I think both teams showed a lack of competitive activity for the first 10 or so minutes, and that isn’t surprising. But, for the next 25 minutes, we dominated the game.
"We had two or three good chances to score and if we had taken them, I am sure we would have won the game. In the second half, we weren't as good, but still had more than enough chances to get back into the game. Our quality was lacking in key areas.
"But all three goals were the result of shocking defending on our part, and not just by one player on each occasion but two or three. The defence as a whole was very poor, with the possible exception of Casey Maclaren."
