The first team progressed to the quarter-finals of the Middlesex Senior Cup this evening as they defeated North Greenford United 3-2. The result was a reverse of the scoreline at the same stage last season.
All the goals came within 17 minutes in the second half, with Jack Bennett opening the scoring in the 53rd minute. Anthony Thomas doubled the lead in the 61st minute, with Carl McCluskey adding to the tally three minutes later. Within seven minutes the home side had come back to 3-2 courtesy of Aaron Silcott and Liam Hind, but the Greens held on to win despite the late dismissal of Dean Cracknell for violent conduct.
The reward in the quarter-finals is an away tie against either Harrow Borough or Staines Town who are due to play next Tuesday evening as the Swans were involved in an FA Trophy replay at Luton Town this evening where they lost 2-0.
