Gary McCann was delighted with the second half show against Metropolitan Police on Saturday that earnt another three points.
He said, "I felt we defended reasonably well in the first half. In fact the only pluses were the way we defended, they didn't have many clear chances, and that we were still in the game at half-time
"I decided to make the change at half-time because we needed more up front and I prefer playing with two - actually I thought about making two substitutions. I didn't shout at the players at the players at half-time, although I could have. It was very calm and I got my point across.
"Anthony Thomas has shown a fantastic attitude and he made a massive difference. He created the first goal and played a big part in the other goals. It was a shame their keeper made the save late on because really deserved to score that goal."
Gary also looked ahead to the FA Trophy tie against Oxford City coming up on Sunday.
"The draw hasn't been overkind to us, but there are no easy draws at this stage of the competition. It is a tough tie, but it is a winnable one. Oxford have made a slow start, but their result on Saturday (they beat Stockport County 4-1) suggests they are beginning to turn things around too.
"We are beginning to become more comfortable at Earlsmead and beginning to show more of what we are capable of. I am sure we will all be prepared for the challenge."
