Sunday afternoon sees what will hopefully be the beginning of another FA Cup run as we entertain Biggleswade United in a 3:00pm kick off.
Biggleswade have reached this point of the competition by winning at Irchester United, and then Leighton Town, and it is a repeat of the first qualifying round tie from 2005 when we ran out 6-0 winners. John Frendo scored a hat-trick that afternoon, with Ross Pickett, Youness Nabil and Mark Burgess also finding the net. In the case of the latter two players, it was their only goal for the club.
Our opponents currently lie in 9th place in the Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division with 8 points from 6 games, but they come into the game on the back of two defeats. They lost 3-1 at Hadley last Saturday in the FA Vase, and then 4-1 at home to high-flying Ampthill Town on Tuesday evening.
Gary McCann goes into the game with no new injury worries, and the squad will be in confident mood following the back-to-back wins over Lowestoft Town and Harrow Borough.
Admission prices are £10 adults, £5 senior citizens and students, and free for under 16s. It is an all pay game, season tickets are not valid, and there will be no complimentary tickets for players guests.
We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at the game on Sunday afternoon.
