The Supporters Association AGM was also held on Thursday evening, and there is no change to the committee for the forthcoming season. Therefore the committee is Mike Hogan (Chairman), Sandra Wood (Secretary), Geraldine Clarke (Treasurer), Bernard Lawrence, Les Vincent, John Rock, John Hodson.
Mike Hogan was presented with the HFCSA Supporter fo the Year in recognition of 50 years' service to the Association.
Unfortunately the accounts were not available due to illness, and an Extraordinary General Meeting will be scheduled as soon as they are available. However, it was noted that future income will be lower than in the past because, as a result of our move to Earlsmead, we will no longer be responsible for catering. The Association paid for the printing of programmes throughout 2012/13 and organised and paid for the recent Awards Night.
It was noted that we have been unable to produce and sell a great deal of merchandise in the recent past. This is unfortunate because merchandise represents a potentially healthy income stream. A request has been made for someone to put themselves forward to become responsible for sourcing and selling HFC-related merchandise. If you think you might be that person, please speak to a member of the HFCSA committee.
Members were also reminded that the club is fans-owned, so more volunteers are needed to increase our small but very loyal band of volunteers. Remember, if we do not, collectively, do all of the things that need to be done on match days and away from the ground, then we will not have a club to support.
The final request was to see if anyone would be able to offer the club some additional storage space to help streamline match day operations. If anyone has a spare room or an empty garage and would be prepared to offer it for storage, please could they let the club know.
