Hopefully the weather will allow us to get back into league action this evening as we entertain Thurrock at Vale Farm in a 7:45pm kick off.
Thurrock are embroiled in a relegation battle, but have plenty of games in hand to move away from the bottom two, although the Greens will be keen to ensure that tonight isn't one of those games.
Thurrock's results have been mixed of late - picking up decent draws against Concord Rangers (1-1 last Thursday) and Wealdstone (0-0 a fortnight ago), wins against Wingate & Finchley and Harrow Borough three weeks ago, but also losing to Whitehawk and East Thurrock United since the beginning of March.
With temperatures at Vale Farm forecast to remain above freezing throughout the day, and not drop to freezing point until the early hours of tomorrow morning, the early signs are that we have a reasonable chance of playing this evening. We will post a further update regarding the prospects of play later today once the pitch has been assessed by the groundsman and we know whether an inspection will be required or not.
Unfortunately we are not able to operate the livescores service this evening, but there will be a full update on the website after the game.
