Hendon were made to pay the price for a poor performance tonight as Combined Counties League side Hanworth Villa ran out 5-4 winners in a penalty shoot out following a 2-2 draw.
However, the Greens only had themselves to blame after coasting into a 2-0 lead inside the first half hour courtesy of Casey Maclaren and Peter Dean. Hanworth pulled a goal back on the stroke of half-time from the penalty spot, and despite creating little of note, the equaliser came on the stroke of full-time, also from the penalty spot following a professional foul by Dave Diedhiou who was also dismissed.
The second half and extra time saw an extremely disappointing performance from Hendon, who continually gave the ball away, and their poor performance eventually led to the result they ultimately deserved, defeat.
