Tomorrow afternoon sees the biggest day in the club's history since the trip to Blackpool thirteen years ago. Whilst Aldershot Town is not new territory for the Greens, there is now 3 levels between the two clubs.
Despite picking up four points in their two away games since the draw was made, a win at Southend United and a draw at Dagenham & Redbridge, the Shots still lie in the relegation zone in League Two following a tough start to the season. However, the Shots home form is utterly rotten, losing five of their seven home games so far this season, scoring just two goals, both by Craig Reid, who picked up an injury before the Dagenham game.
Aldershot manager Dean Holdsworth will be hoping for a confidence boosting win, especially as they have crucial league games coming up against Wycombe Wanderers and Bradford City in the week following tomorrow's FA Cup tie.
Gary McCann and the squad will be very keen to ensure that the Shots don't get that confidence boosting win, and instead suffer a confidence shattering defeat. The squad is expected to be at full strength with the exception of the three suspended players.
Those of you who saw the win against Reading in the 70s, and/or the win at Leyton Orient in 1997 will know how special these days can be. If the support is as good as it was in the replay win against Eastbourne - the players really do appreciate it when you get behind them like you did that evening - you never know what might happen.
