Hendon's hate-affair with the FA Trophy continued yesterday afternoon with a 2-1 defeat at Leiston.
The home side took a first half lead in an evenly matched opening period. The Greens put in an excellent second half performance with Elliott Charles equalising early in the period, but the remainder of the game saw Leiston keeper Danny Potter in outstanding form as he kept out everything Hendon threw at him. And as is so often the case in such a game it was Leiston who scored the winner in the 73rd minute to send the Greens home disappointed and out of the competition for another year.
