Hendon progressed to the third qualifying round of the FA Cup with what turned out to be a comfortable 3-0 win over Lewes.

However, the first half was very even, with both sides missing what appeared to be easy chances, but the Greens pinched the lead just before half time when a Lewes defender gave away possession cheaply which allowed Dean Cracknell to score with a lovely shot.

The lead was doubled early in the second half when the ball fell to Elliott Charles at the far post and he was able to tuck the ball home for his first goal of the season.

The Greens were well control for the rest of the game, although the Rooks did have a few chances. The final goal came in second half stoppage time when Michael Murray fired home an excellent free kick that left the Lewes keeper rooted to the spot.

The draw for the next round will be made on Monday, and should be available around lunchtime. Games are due to be played on the weekend of 6th/7th October.
