Hendon had to twice come back from two goals down at AFC Hornchurch in a game that finally ended 4-4, and the Greens had Lubomir Guentchev to thank as the Bulgarian scored a hat-trick.
The game opened in disastrous fashion as the Urchins went two goals head inside the first six minutes through Jo Flack and Wayne Gray. Guentchev pulled a goal back in the 25th minute, before equalising two minutes into the second half.
AFC Hornchurch regained the initiative ten minutes later through Reece Prestedge, and in the 71st minute Mark Janney made it 4-2. But as is so often the case, the Greens refused to give up and were rewarded in the 84th minute when James Bent scored, and with a minute of normal time to go, Guentchev completed his hat-trick and secured the point for the Greens.
