Hendon won their final friendly of the summer, coming away from Hitchin Town with a 1-0 win yesterday afternoon.
The Greens line up included Wayne Walters having a trial game in defence following his recent departure from Harrow Borough, and Jack Mazzone, who made a great impression on loan from Woking at the end of last season, looking for a possible further return on loan.
The only goal of the game came late on in the second half when good work from Jerome Federico saw the ball crossed into the area for a delighted Michael Murray to fire home.
Earlier in the second period, former Green Marc Leach saw his penalty well saved by Berkley Laurencin.
It was a very enjoyable game despite the very warm conditions, with both teams playing some good football but chances were at a premium.
