Hendon's play off hopes are still alive as they demolished Wingate & Finchley 5-0 at Summers Lane this afternoon.
The Greens took the lead in the 7th minute through Isaiah Rankin, before Casey Maclaren doubled the lead in the 20th minute - his first goal of the season. Dave Diedhiou then scored twice around the half hour mark to give Hendon a 4-0 lead at half-time. Unusally, all four goals came from corners or crosses by Scott Cousins. Wingate's task was made much tougher as late in the half David Laird was dismissed for a nasty challenge on Ryan Wharton.
The second half was a much quieter affair with Carl McCluskey scoring the only goal of the period two minutes from time.
With both Cray and Lewes also winning this afternoon, the Greens remain in 7th place, but just one point behind 5th placed Cray. All three clubs, along with 8th placed Canvey Island will be hoping that Harrow can beat Wealdstone on Wednesday evening.
