Five minutes of this season look like haunting the Greens, following a 3-2 defeat at Lewes this afternoon. Hendon seemed well in control of the game early on, with Belal Aite-Oukarim giving them a 15th minute lead which lasted till halftime, despite the first half opening out.
However, within seconds of the second half starting Lewes were level, an unmarked header from a set piece catching Banks unawares. Barely two minutes later, the Rooks were ahead, again from a set piece, before a third goal on 50 minutes made things look comfortable.
The game settled back into it's previous pattern following the third Lewes goal, neither side offering too much threat, with the Greens only able to gain a consolation in stoppage time, Scott Cousins riffling home a goal that would grace any stage.
The defeat leaves Hendon back outside the playoff zone, and desperate for a win in their next game to try and stay in touch with the Cray Wanderers. While a playoff place looks unlikely, it isn't out of the question yet.
