We are pleased to announce that we have made two new signings, one of whom has made over 250 Football League appearances, whilst the other has come through the youth academy at a Premier League club.
Lewis Hunt is a 29 year old central defender who joins us from Bradford City, from where he was released a few weeks ago. Born in Birmingham, he began his career at Derby County, before moving on to Southend United where he made nearly 150 appearances. During his time at Southend he was runner up in what is now the Johnson Paints Trophy, won the League 2 play-offs in 2005 and was in the League 1 championship winning side the following year. He then spent a couple of years at Wycombe Wanderers, earning promotion from League 2 in 2009, before joining Bradford in the summer of 2010.
The second arrival is 19 year old defender/wide forward Elliott Cox, who was released by Queens Park Rangers in the summer. He spent time away on loan last season including spells at Tooting & Mitcham United and Histon.
Both players go straight into the squad for tomorrow's game at Metropolitan Police. Gary McCann is also hoping that some more of the injured players will be available for selection as well, as he is looking for a big response from the squad following the disappointing results and performances over the festive period.
